Anatomy of school violence
When the system aligns itself against students.
Physical violence against a child is a criminal offense. Teachers have legal, disciplinary and institutional tools to address inappropriate student behavior.
A 15-year-old, a child, even if he has made a serious mistake, remains legally and morally in an unequal position.
Another weak link in schools remains socio-emotional education. The education system continues to measure success primarily through academic results, while skills in anger management, conflict resolution and empathy remain largely neglected.
When the family and school fail to build a shared understanding of responsibilities and boundaries, addressing violence solely within the school treats the symptom but not the root of the problem.
When people turn violence into digital content, they normalize it as part of social communication.
European models of so-called “timeout schools” provide a structured approach for temporary pedagogical and psychosocial interventions without removing the student from the education system.
