Armend Bekaj is a researcher at the Department of Peace and Conflict Research (DPCR), Uppsala University in Sweden, with a focus on the long-term impacts of former combatants-turned-politicians on democracy and institution-building in societies in transition. Armend has a PhD in Political Science from the University of Sheffield and a Master’s in Conflict Resolution from Bradford University.
