Join us on Monday December 23, at 18:00, at Hub 2.0 for a screening of the film “On the Way” and a conversation with Kosovar director Samir Karahoda.
Recently, we published the article “Film as a counterbalance to despair,” a profile of Karahoda written by K2.0 journalist Dafina Halili. The piece traces his three-decade journey from photography to filmmaking.
The film “On the Way,” which we will screen first, originates from a conversation the director had with his 13-year-old son, Miron, who expressed feelings of uncertainty about the future in Kosovo — a sentiment shared by many young people today.
At the heart of the film is Miron, who plays himself, alongside his father, portrayed by actor Ylber Mehmeti. The film follows their journey to the airport, encountering situations that reflect the tensions between past and future while confronting the harsh realities of migration.
After the screening, Halili will talk to Karahoda about his creative journey, his inspirations, his approach to filmmaking and the messages conveyed through his work.
You’re welcome to join us!
