Palokaj: The dialogue is more or less dead
Augustin Palokaj discusses the EU-mediated dialogue, Kosovo's relations with the EU, the integration of the Serb community and the need for political consensus.
The dialogue, though it is said to be ongoing, is more or less dead.
Coordination is only possible when there is good faith and willingness on both sides.
Until now, the focus has been on preserving Serbia's presence in Kosovo rather than protecting the rights of Serbs in Kosovo. The EU has finally understood this.
So the Kosovo Government acted hastily and without coordination, and it paid the price. But on the other hand, when it tried to act with coordination, it didn't succeed either.
The time for confrontation with the international community has passed.
Governments come and go, but these national interests will remain.
