Queerness is here to stay - Kosovo 2.0

Queerness is here to stay

A decade of LGBTQ+ coverage

Ten years ago, K2.0 was among the first outlets to challenge the public erasure of LGBTQ+ people in Kosovo and the denial of their rights. For this, we were attacked by a homophobic mob at the launch party of our magazine issue of sex and queerness.

At K2.0, we know that wherever LGBTQ+ legal, social and cultural recognition flourishes, so too does democracy. This is because queer liberation is grounded in the understanding that diversity does not need external approval in order to be dignified and that when individuals are empowered to make decisions about their own lives, its not just queer people and nonconformists who are liberated, but all of society.

Revisit some of our LGBTQ+ themed coverage throughout the years where we stake out the position that LBGTQ+ lives and advocacy are neither a minor issue nor a minority issue.
