Bulent Mumay is a 39-year-old freelance journalist. A columnist for Turkish daily Birgun and German publication Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, he also teaches digital journalism at Kadir Has University. In 2013, Mumay was honored with the prestigious Human Rights Award by the South East Europe Media Organization (SEEMO), an affiliate of the International Press Institute (IPI), for his “human rights-oriented editorial approach despite pressures during the Gezi protests.”
