Konteksti Podcast: Recovery?

By - 19.12.2020

The law for Economic Recovery was given the green light at the Assembly. But what will be its impact on Kosovars?

The law for Economic Recovery took six months to be approved because the coalition partners could not ensure the votes for its approval. On the other hand, the opposition Democratic Party of Kosovo only voted for the law after their conditions on changing certain articles were met. Even though it was ultimately approved, economic and public policy experts’ critiques do not sound very hopeful.

What was the deal with the delays and the postponement of the approval and what are the critiques of the content of the law? Will the law be effective? Which social categories will benefit, which are excluded, and which economic sectors are favored by the economic support of the government? These are a few of the issues that we will untangle in the conversation conducted by K2.0’s journalist — Ngadhnjim Avdyli.
