K2.0 invites you to register for the workshop on Educational Theater and the Legacy of Silence under the Lokomotiva 2.0 program supported by the Prince Claus Fund.

The workshop will be held in Kosovo 2.0 on October 14 and 15 from 10:00 to 15:00 (with one hour break). It will be led by the actor and master of educational theater Lulzim Bucolli, as well as the artist Driton Selmani.

Educational Theater

In the section on Educational Theater led by Lulzim Bucolli, participants will learn about forum theater, social issues that can be addressed through theater, methods of warming the voice and body, image theater and improvising short scenes.

Forum theater engages viewers to influence performance as viewers and as actors. In this type of theater, the audience has the power to stop or change the performance. The issues addressed in forum theater are often related to social justice and aim to find solutions to the oppression that presents itself in performance. During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to rehearse a forum.

Image theater is a performance technique in which a person acting as a sculptor shapes one or more people acting as a statue, using only touch. The images presented in this form of theater come to life in several ways. Actors use their hands to create images from the bodies of other actors to communicate an idea, an event or an emotion.

Legacy of Silence

The beginning/main point of the workshop “Legacy of Silence,” led by Driton Selmani, will be researching and highlighting the tension between what is said and what is left unsaid, between silence and the forgotten, the individual and the collective, them and us.

The power of preserving experiences and memories raises questions about the forms of narrative, one of which is: who is the speaker and who is the listener?

How long – and how much silence – does it take for the stranger to become a speaker? And how long does it take for the listener to be able to fully hear the unwanted testimony?

The workshop will focus on silence and the power of the unspoken. By promoting active participation, the workshop aims to dismantle the double wall between the non-speaking and the deaf through collective endeavor, a participatory sculpture. All this as a form of resistance to aesthetic cultural and political customs.

We invite artists, activists and everyone interested in expressing themselves through educational theater and contemporary art to apply for this workshop.

The workshop will be held at Kosovo 2.0. Translation into English and Serbian will be provided.

All applicants will be notified about the status of their application. The deadline for registration is October 9.
