The launch of K2.0’s zine, This Is What Peace Looks Like
We invite you to Hub 2.0 on Monday, September 30, at 5:30 p.m., for the launch of K2.0’s zine, This Is What Peace Looks Like. The zine brings together narratives exploring memory, post-war experiences and various definitions of how to live in peace.
In one Albanian dictionary, “peace” is defined as a state of being without worries. For those who experience war and oppression, peace becomes a dream and a vision driving their struggle for liberation. It often turns into the ultimate goal, with the belief that peace will make everything fall into place. However, peace demands a lot of effort. War may end peace, but the end of war doesn’t always bring peace.
This Is What Peace Looks Like includes contributions from eight authors who, through their own stories or by sharing the stories of others, show that the end of war does not necessarily mean freedom from worry. Peace, which is exalted as the desired state, can be disturbing, bitter and tiresome.
To discuss the zine and the importance of documenting and narrating the past, we will be joined by:
Aurela Kadriu, program director at Qendra Multimedia, author of “Belongings that were lost during the war.”
Besian Beha, journalist at Nacionale, author of “The alternative archive.”
Rexhep Maloku, journalist on Tema television, author of “In good times and in bad.”
The discussion will be moderated by Dafina Halili, a journalist at Kosovo 2.0.
We invite you to join us for a discussion, drinks and food.
