Between the myths and prejudice about mental health

The stigmatization of individuals with mental disorders in Bosnia and Herzegovina continues.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, individuals who struggle with various mental disorders are also forced to deal with a lot of prejudice from the people around them. Like many others, a woman who experienced depression and panic attacks for an extensive period of time says that she was not met with a lot of understanding from her circle.

Although the network of mental health professionals and of organizations and services that offer support has expanded in the past years, there is still space for change so people do not hesitate to ask for help.
